Description
A Chavar (also known as Chamara or Chaur) is a sacred ritual accessory used in Hindu worship to honor and serve deities with devotion and reverence. Traditionally made from natural yak tail hair and attached to a beautifully crafted handle of wood, brass, or silver, the chavar symbolizes purity, royalty, and divine respect. It is gently waved in front of the deity during aarti and special rituals as a gesture of seva (service), representing the offering of air and comfort to the divine presence. The use of a chavar is deeply rooted in temple traditions and is often seen in ceremonies dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Vishnu, and other deities. Its graceful movement creates a serene and spiritual atmosphere, enhancing the overall sanctity of the पूजा. Ideal for temples, home mandirs, and festive occasions, a Chavar adds a touch of tradition, devotion, and elegance to every ritual while symbolizing utmost respect and divine service.
